Biodiscovery@UQ represents a new and exciting thematic networking initiative across UQ Faculties, Schools, Departments and Institutes, aimed at showcasing excellence in biodiscovery related research. This will be achieved by:
- Documenting and showcasing the community of UQ biodiscovery researchers.
- Highlighting UQ biodiscovery infrastructure, including capacity and capability.
- Encouraging and broadening the scope and diversity of biodiscovery research within and across disciplines.
- Strengthening the case and opportunities for future investment in UQ biodiscovery.
- Advancing the development and take up of best practice biodiscovery methodologies and technologies.
- Accelerating the discovery, capture and commercialization of valuable intellectual property.
- Facilitating the communication of UQ biodiscovery research in high impact scientific journals and at prestigious local and international meetings.
- Enhancing the capacity of UQ to attract, train and retain talented biodiscovery research staff and students.
UQ researchers who would like to register and be featured through Biodiscovery@UQ can download, complete and submit a Researcher form. Those researchers with access to unique biodiversity and/or bioassays are also encouraged to submit Biodiversity and/or Bioassay forms.
Networks are, of course, only as vibrant and successful as the participants. I warmly encourage all UQ researchers with an interest in biodiscovery to take up the invitation and actively engage with Biodiscovery@UQ, in the realization that our collective endeavours will undoubtedly enhance, expand and extend our research achievements.
Constructive suggestions on how to improve the Biodiscovery@UQ concept can be forwarded directly to Prof Rob Capon.
